Chapter 1: The unknown prophecy

The sky was dark, but even when the sky was covered in darkness, it was like the ground was not. The moon was casting a bright light over the field, the forest and the river, making that the young Night elf female had no trouble to see. When she looked around her, everything was covered with strange light, a mysterious glow that was guiding her. It was like every plant and every creature was giving off some strange shimmer, like they were surrounded by the light of the moon. When the young female looked up, she saw the full moon standing at the sky, surrounded by the many stars that filled the sky. And she could not suppress the feeling that the moon was guiding her…

Following this strange feeling, the young Night elf walked through the grass. She could feel the cold touch at her feet, but it was soft at the same time. Her attention was suddenly drawn by a sound which sounded like the soft rumbling of the river. She fell the urge rise in her chest to follow the sound. Passing a few long grass bushes, she arrived at the river, that seemed to glow brighter under the moonlight. The water was pure, clear and running at a rapid speed. The Night elf let her fingers run through the cold water, taking a few sips. It felt like the purest drink.

But when she looked up, she almost gasped for air. As before her, on the other side of the riverbank stood a giant spider, easily twice the size of a panther. It’s eyes leveled hers, glowing in a soft red light. The female wanted to grab her dagger, but noticed she couldn’t find it. When she looked to her side, where her dagger should be, she realized she was not carrying it. Unarmed she took a few steps back, seeing how the spider stepped into the river, crossing it with ease. The Night elf backed off, with slow steps, fearing that a sudden movement would alert the spider into an attack. She saw how it arrived at the same shore she was, it’s red eyes still focused on her.

She was ready to bolt, to defend herself with her bare hands if needed, but then the spider did something unexpectedly. Instead of threatening her, the creature suddenly lowered its body to the ground, almost like it was bowing. And the Night Elf no longer felt fear. Intrigued by this strange action, she even took a step closer, reaching out with her hand. She did not know why, but she had the feeling she had to. And on the moment her fingertips touched the large creature, light engulfed her … and a voice brought her back to the present.

“Lady Ly’Kalyn?” A voice said and the Night elf opened her eyes, seeing that another young female had entered her home.

“Yes?” Ly answered, raising up from her with leaves covered bed.

“The children are waiting for you.”

Ly nodded. She must have overslept … Her hand touched her head, like she wanted to see if she was awake now. The vision of the dream lingered in her mind. But she could no longer afford to think about it right now. The children were waiting for their lesson. It was her duty as Priestess to teach them about their goddess and way of life.

“I will be there.” Ly’Kalyn said, after realizing that the young female was still waiting. The girl nodded and left her hut. The Priestess took a deep sigh, still seeing the image of the giant spider before her. She could not suppress the feeling that this dream meant something, but she could not figure out what. A warning, perhaps?

When she walked out of her hut, several meters above the ground, she saw the children waiting downstairs at the roots of the large tree. When Ly’Kalyn looked up, her eyes meet the gaze of the full moon, shining brightly, surrounded by many twinkling stars.

“Is there something you want to tell me, my dear Moonmaiden?”
